Russia Today stopped by the mint while filming a documentary on the Republic of Texas — and caught us manufacturing their currency.
The mint got a surprise visit from international news media outlet Russia Today. They were in town making a documentary about the Republic of Texas, and stopped by to grab footage of us manufacturing their currency.
It's not every day that the line between Texas history, alternative currency, and global news media crosses through your own factory floor. Cameras rolling, presses running, copper and silver moving through every stage of production — it was a good reminder that what we're building here is interesting to a lot more people than just Texans.
We've always believed that honest money in physical form tells a story words can't. Watching an international news crew document that story being made — coin by coin, struck right here in Texas — was a moment worth marking.
