TEXITcoin's 'Honest Money Hour' Kickoff with Bobby Gray
Friday, April 17, 2026
Founder Bobby Gray kicks off the new 'Honest Money Hour' series, discussing TEXITcoin's core mission to combat inflation after the launch of the IDMC cooperative.
TEXITcoin founder Bobby Gray, broadcasting from Singapore, launched the inaugural "Honest Money Hour" call, a new weekly series dedicated to the principles of sound money. This kickoff follows the official launch of the Iskander Digital Mining Cooperative (IDMC) a day prior, marking a new, more structured phase for the community. Gray positioned this new hour as the foundational, philosophical heart of the project, designed to instill a deep conviction in their mission beyond typical crypto hype. Gray delivered a passionate critique of the current financial system, describing it as a form of theft via inflation that benefits a select few he called "Cantillionaires." He contrasted this with "honest money" like gold, silver, and well-designed crypto, which he argues should increase in purchasing power over time. Drawing from his experience creating a silver-backed currency in 2008, he explained that TEXITcoin is the modern evolution of this fight, leveraging technology to create a superior, decentralized medium of exchange. The core strategy is to build a sustainable movement by educating the community on why honest money matters, giving them the ability to reclaim their time and wealth. While acknowledging that flash and excitement are necessary to get attention, Gray emphasized that the project's long-term "staying power" will come from these deeply rooted principles. He framed TEXITcoin not just as an investment, but as a moral and ethical choice to opt out of a flawed and unfair system. Looking forward, Gray aims to develop the "Honest Money Hour" into a podcast-style format with expert guests. His presence in Singapore is a strategic move to tap into the major financial and crypto hub, expanding TEXITcoin's story of peace and prosperity to a global audience and building a movement strong enough to challenge the monetary status quo.
Bobby Gray: All right, it's seven o'clock in Texas. Welcome, everybody. Bobby Gray here, joining you from beautiful Singapore where it is Bobby Gray: 8am, and I have yet to enjoy that first sip feeling, so here we go Bobby Gray: Welcome to our kickoff call of the Honest Money Hour. Bobby Gray: Which Bobby Gray: Is going to be a bit of a continuation of our normal Thursday calls where we talk about Texit coin and digital currencies, crypto, and it's going to be a little bit of Bobby Gray: you know, more boring conversation about good old-fashioned money. Got my Zoom sitting on here, let's see if it annoys me Bobby Gray: Let's turn that off… Zoom, don't auto-frame. There we go. So Bobby Gray: To kick off tonight's call, we're not going to have a long, drawn out 19 hour marathon. We've had a lot of activity this week. It's been a busy week. It's been an exciting week, and it's been a good week. Bobby Gray: We finally… what was it yesterday? Bobby Gray: kicked off IDMC officially in Foreverly Bobby Gray: We Bobby Gray: Got our Bobby Gray: cells pointed in the right direction, and I think now rolling down the tracks Bobby Gray: For Bobby Gray: Our cooperative version of what we've been doing over the last two years with building out a community Bobby Gray: Having fun and sharing our message of peace and prosperity with people in the state of Texas, all over our country and all over the world as well. Bobby Gray: And so tonight's call is really going to be quick. It's going to be a quick welcome. It's going to be a quick reminder of who we are, what we're doing, why we're here, and we won't keep you too long. I guess it's Thursday. I'll have more stuff planned for us in the future. Bobby Gray: was going into this call hoping that it could eventually turn into a bit of a podcast format, you know, special guests and interviews and, you know, get some experts on these calls to help, you know, to help solidify Bobby Gray: Our you know our deep foundation, our real conviction for Bobby Gray: The most important piece of this project, which is kind of boring, you know, honest money, money on one hand is extremely exciting. It's the root of all good, as I like to say, which I learned from Atlas Shrugged. It is Bobby Gray: The thing that gets us the stuff that we want. We live in society, we're part of a civilization now where, you know, fortunately, we don't have to worry about, you know, the neighboring tribe coming over on a regular basis and pillaging and plundering and taking all of our stuff Bobby Gray: We've got money now, and so we get to trade with the neighboring tribe. We get to exchange value with them using pieces of paper or shiny discs, or, you know, lots of other stuff that we've cooked up along the way. And so Bobby Gray: you know, money is important. Money is a powerful tool for civilization to use to avoid having to go back to the sticks and the clubs and the guns and all the other things that we've, you know, used over the years to take things that we now trade for Bobby Gray: And so it's good. It's powerful. It's important. And it's important for us to understand what it is, how it works Bobby Gray: And how we got to where we are with the type of money that we use today without an understanding of that, well, we're destined to repeat the failures of the monetary systems that have come before us Bobby Gray: But also we need to be able to connect the dots of the work that we're doing and the value that it has for Bobby Gray: our communities for our state, for our nation, for the world. And Bobby Gray: On the other hand, money is incredibly boring. And, you know, I talked to people for a long time about that, about how, like, look, we're gonna start going out and having these barbecues and meetups and conferences, and the last thing that we want to do is bring a bunch of people out to a room, you know. Bobby Gray: say hello to him, look them in the eye, get them excited, and then bore them for the next 3 or 4 hours on a long seminar about money. You know, in the history of money, and what's wrong with money. It's like, why do people come and Bobby Gray: And share their time with us at these events. They do it because they're excited about something that we have to say. And the last thing we want to do is put those people to sleep for a four-hour seminar on the history of money. So Bobby Gray: On one point, money is Bobby Gray: incredibly exciting, and we, you know, know three things about it from our friend Raphael Cruz. One, it's better to have it than not. Two, it's better to have more of it than less, and it's better to have it sooner than later. And so, say what you want about money. It's important for us, and also it's a little bit boring. So Bobby Gray: This call is going to be a little bit of both. You know, like I said, we want to create more substance. We want to have a strong foundation so that as our community is going out there and sharing our message with people all over the world Bobby Gray: You know, the people that are receiving that message know that it's based in something real. Bobby Gray: And so we're going to great efforts right now to put together that information on the Crypto U website so that you can learn it at your pace, in your time, on your schedule, and you can have some of those important background Bobby Gray: notes, those important background facts and figures so that you can understand how we got to where we are today. Bobby Gray: And help show people that with and through the work that we're doing via text at COIN, we're able to actually change that. We're actually able to have an impact on that. Think about Bitcoin, for example. Think about what a profound Bobby Gray: change it has had on the entire financial ecosystem. You know, every state house in the world several years ago was talking about Bitcoin, Bitcoin strategic reserves, and Bitcoin laws and rules and regulations. I mean. Bobby Gray: disrupted this entire thing that has hummed along for the last hundred years. I mean, the Federal Reserve came out back in 1913, as we know, not a good year for America, but we got the Federal Reserve 113 years ago Bobby Gray: We got Bitcoin back in like 2008, 2009. So 100 years of status quo for the overlords. And then all of a sudden out of nowhere, this upstart, you know financial technology shows up that nobody ever really saw coming Bobby Gray: And, you know, the little things that manifested over the years in the realm of, like, alternative currencies, be it, you know, gold money or the American open currency Standard, or Ithaca Hours, and Bobby Gray: Berkshares, you know, those little things were isolated and, you know, never really gathered enough support and momentum to pose a real threat Bobby Gray: To, you know mainstream financial. And all of a sudden, out of nowhere, Bitcoin shows up and rocks the banking industry to its very core. I think they've pushed back, I think they've fought back. You know, I hate to think of it in terms of Bobby Gray: militant Bobby Gray: you know, language, but… but it is a bit of a battle. You know, it is a bit of a battle, maybe, between good and evil, maybe between banks and DeFi, you know, technologies, whatever it is, and however you'd like to think of it, the point is that Bobby Gray: You know, after 100 years of us kind of becoming very comfortable and complacent with the financial system that we have. Bobby Gray: That, of course, has lost 95, 97, 99% of its value over that period of time Bobby Gray: All of a sudden, out of nowhere, Bitcoin shows up and changes the game for everybody everywhere. And Bobby Gray: you know, I think that, by 2017, the banks figured out that they were going to need to get involved in this conversation. At first, they kind of brushed it off, you know, said terrible things about it, tried to ignore it, ignored it. You could probably go back and find some clips of, you know, Jamie Dimon talking about how Bobby Gray: You know, it's never going to be anything, and I'm sure those clips now are just as fun as watching Bill Gates a number of years ago talk about how you never need more than 256K of memory in a computer Bobby Gray: So, you know, they they ignored it at first, and now every single one of them has their… their dirty, grubby hands in the cryptocurrency, blockchain DeFi pie Bobby Gray: And so, we're here as well to be part of that conversation. Not necessarily because we want to get rich, but of course we do, not necessarily because we want to have fun, but we do, not because we want to bring people together and share stories with them, but we do. Bobby Gray: But because we, and I mean I Bobby Gray: and hopefully you share some of this passion now at this point. We believe Bobby Gray: that money is at the core of everything that's wrong in the world. You know, maybe there's a couple things that fall outside of that general statement, but if you go down every path, every rabbit hole, every conspiracy theory trail, every injustice, you can track it back to Bobby Gray: You know, what is it, Koibono? Who benefits? Who gets the money? Where does the money go? Watch the flow of money Bobby Gray: And Bobby Gray: For us to be involved in a project that actually Bobby Gray: Strikes at the very core, the very root of that problem, that fundamental flaw where let's pause and think about what it is for a moment. We've got, you know, this thing that we all need. We have to have money. You can't go out with a baseball bat even if you wanted to, and start Bobby Gray: Smashing the bread aisle at the grocery store and hope to walk away with a couple loaves of bread and not get in trouble for it. Like, we need money. If you want to survive Bobby Gray: in the world today, if you're unwilling to go live on a secluded island somewhere, or out in the middle of a forest, and grow your own food, and read by candlelight, and, you know, go off-grid all the way, if you're unwilling to do that, you need money Bobby Gray: You got to have some cash. And then we got to figure out how to get it. Well, then that's where we trade our time, our years. Bobby Gray: Our time, our valuable years. And how many times have you heard that story about the rich guy that would trade it all for just another day with his, you know, his family or his friends? You know, like. Bobby Gray: We need it, but we trade our years to get it. And it's like that movie in time where everyone's got the amount of time they have left to live, you know, right there on their wrist. We trade our our time, our minutes and our hours and our days Bobby Gray: For money, you know time is money. You've heard that phrase, you know plenty, I'm sure. But the reality is that it's true. We got to get money. Okay, well, how do we get it? Well, we got to figure it out whether you're an entrepreneur or you have a job somewhere Bobby Gray: Unless you've inherited some massive amount of wealth that will see you through all the way to, you know, that deathbed of yours, you gotta work for it, and you gotta trade your time to get money. And so, when you realize the cost that goes into getting money Bobby Gray: You go, huh. Bobby Gray: Man, it's really weird that somebody somewhere has got like a money printer sitting on their side table, maybe Bobby Gray: And they don't actually have to trade their time, their hours, their days, their months. They just hit the print button, and it gives them, like, a big sheet, and they chop that sheet up, and then they go to the grocery store. They don't take a baseball bat, they just take this paper Bobby Gray: They cost them almost nothing to produce Bobby Gray: And then along the way, they give some out to their friends. Don't worry about paying me back. It's all good. I got the money printer back at my desk Bobby Gray: They give it out to the people that, you know, that they want to support. We have very little say in what that process is, how it works, who gets it, whether or not those things are ever repaid Bobby Gray: I mean, that's what money is for some Bobby Gray: And it's not like that for me. I can't remember the name, I can never remember the name of Bobby Gray: Of these guys. Let me see if I can pull it up here while I'm babbling. But those guys, they have a money printer. They have their own, I'm sure somebody out there remembers. Whoever tells me what the name is that I'm looking for Bobby Gray: gets 100 TXC first. Remember we used to do TXC giveaways on these things Bobby Gray: It's such an easy, easy thing, and I don't remember it, and I'm bummed out about it. Bobby Gray: Are you guys able to send messages? Bobby Gray: We might not even be able to send messages. Maybe it's in the Q&A. Bobby Gray: Come on Bobby Gray: Jason, where are you at? You got the answer to this question. Anyway, those are the guys that have the money printer. Those are the guys that are plugged into the money supply. They don't have to work for it. They get to make it up whenever they want, which is very confusing because Bobby Gray: You would think that if you had a money printer Bobby Gray: And you controlled the money supply, you wouldn't need to, like, tax Bobby Gray: your citizenry. You wouldn't need to Bobby Gray: You know, you wouldn't need to do ridiculous things Bobby Gray: that seem outrageous just to get more money. Don't you have the money printer? Not the Federal Reserve. What are they called the guys that are plugged directly into the money supply? There's there's a cantillion Bobby Gray: I get the 100 TXC. Bobby Gray: I think it was Max Kaiser that coined the term cantillionaires. Check out cantillionaires if you want to go down that rabbit hole. But cantillionaires are the guys that are plugged into the money supply. They're either the banks or they're the Fortune 500s, those are the guys that get direct Bobby Gray: access to the money, fresh off the printer. They've got a buddy down at the Fed. Hey man, can you cook me up another couple billion? I've got payroll to meet this week. Bobby Gray: Done, cantillionaires. It's a really great term because when we talk about the people that control the money Bobby Gray: the money supply, we usually call them the elite, you know we call them, you know, these… we give them these kind of like names that indicate that there's some sort of revered, magnificent thing, and really what they are is blood-sucking amoebas, blood-sucking leeches Bobby Gray: Is an amoeba a bloodsucker? No Bobby Gray: Bloodsucking leeches and Bobby Gray: And so Cantillionaire is a much better term for those guys. The guys that have the money printer, the guys that are plugged into the money supply, cantillionaire, C-A-N-T-I-L-L-I-O-N-A-I-R-E maybe. But that's not me. Bobby Gray: I'm not plugged into the money supply. I'm an outsider. I don't have friends that I met from my days in the Harvard dorms. I'm not that guy. Bobby Gray: And so I got Bobby Gray: Three options. One, become one of those guys, go join those secret society meetings, show up at their island parties, you know, make friends, sell my soul, get the cool tattoo, do the fun, you know, hand symbols while I'm out on stage Bobby Gray: You know Bobby Gray: Go join the other team. I'm sure life is easier on the other team. Bobby Gray: But Bobby Gray: Option 2 is I can work. Option two is I can, you know, go get a job. I can work my butt off. I can I can trade my hours for my wages Bobby Gray: And a lot of you do that, and there is nothing wrong with hard work. In fact, it's one of the core pillars of our project and our success Bobby Gray: But there's a third option. There's a third option that I explored back in 2008, and I explored again in 2024. I can make my own money. Bobby Gray: What a novel idea Bobby Gray: What a novel idea. Why let those guys with their secret societies and their like creepy rituals, why let them have all the fun Bobby Gray: Let's make our own money. Bobby Gray: I did it. Bobby Gray: In 2008, I started the American Open Currency Standard. I looked at all the things that I thought were wrong in the world. I figured that they all had one common denominator. It was always money. Well, who controls the money supply? The Federal Reserve does. Bobby Gray: Well, how long has that been going on? Well, we've had a couple central banks in our days. You know, the first one went deeply in debt, killed itself for the most part. The second one was killed by Andrew Jackson Bobby Gray: And the third one started in 1913, and they just extended its 100-year charter and it exists perpetually forever. We have this wonderful creation. Bobby Gray: And so Bobby Gray: you know, I looked at that, and I said, well, if they can do it, so can I. Bobby Gray: There's no law against an average ordinary American creating, you know, their own private voluntary barter currency. It's been done many, many, many times. I'm going to do it. In 2008 with silver, gold, and copper coins. Bobby Gray: I'm going to build myself a bit of a horse and buggy, start manufacturing coins that tell incredible stories, and we're going back. Bobby Gray: We're going back to the days when people had little leather pouches and satchels, you know, hooked on the side of their bags that they used to carry their wealth Bobby Gray: From their home to the market. Let's do that again. What a novel idea Bobby Gray: That'll be and it worked. As ridiculous as it sounds, of course it worked. Why? Because people are unhappy with the options that they have. Everyone loves options and alternatives. When the government forces this one system down your hand by fiat Bobby Gray: You know, and really like Bobby Gray: That's not even true. The government doesn't force us to use dollars. They've produced a currency and we voluntarily use it. You know, we are able to discharge debt's public and private, which means you can pay your taxes with it, means that if you get jammed up in some sort of lawsuit and you want Bobby Gray: settle the monetary damages, you can use dollars to do those things. There are stories out there about guys that use, like, pennies to pay their ridiculous parking violations and stuff, just for fun. You can do it. Maybe he didn't get away with it, but the point is that Bobby Gray: We have options, we have alternatives, we can make… you can make your own money, I can make my own money. I've made my own money back in 2008. Bobby Gray: And the American Open Currency Standard was successful. It was work, man. It was hard work. It was minimum wage or less for a long time getting that project off the ground, but it worked and it worked. Bobby Gray: And it was, something that I was very proud of Bobby Gray: We're not here tonight to talk about that, so we won't. But Bobby Gray: I'm riding the horse and buggy, the Bitcoin freight train goes flying by. I never saw it coming. I knew about it. Bobby Gray: I heard about it, it was discussed in the same circles that, you know, we were in based on our work in the realm of honest money back in the day. But Bobby Gray: I didn't trust it. I didn't like it. I didn't understand it. Bobby Gray: And of course, things that we don't understand, we tend to be afraid of. Wasn't necessarily afraid of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, but I didn't get it. It took me a long time, better part of a dozen years, to see what I was missing Bobby Gray: And of course, finally, I dusted off my alternative complimentary currency boots and started Texacoin in 2024. After years of being in and around the cryptocurrency industry, becoming extremely Bobby Gray: frustrated and turned off Bobby Gray: By the things that were out there in the space that were getting attention, that were big and successful. You know, I looked at all that stuff and I'm like, this is not what Bitcoin's supposed to be all about. Bitcoin is supposed to be Bobby Gray: A currency that people use to exchange value in the marketplace. Nobody controls it, there's no central authority. We've got this system that works almost instantaneously, almost from one end of the earth to the other, and back in seconds, almost for Bobby Gray: free, and we don't have to go through a bank or a central authority to get there. I mean, even when I was shipping my silver coins all over the world, I got to go through FedEx or UPS, and that package is going to go through a customs office somewhere. And so. Bobby Gray: work Bobby Gray: to try to use this old-fashioned form of money in our high-tech digital world. It's not gonna work. Bobby Gray: Bitcoin thing, there's something there. Took me a long time to understand what was there, but I figured it out, created Texacoin, and that's what, of course, has brought all of us together here on this beautiful Thursday Bobby Gray: Evening or Friday morning. Anyway, like I said before, we're not going to spend too much time on our introductory call tonight, but I do want to Bobby Gray: Pause for a moment and remind you of why we're here. Honest might. Bobby Gray: It matters. It matters for you and me, because we have the ability to offset Bobby Gray: What's happening with inflation and rising costs by choosing to use better money. If our money holds its value over time, like gold and silver Bobby Gray: You know, you can look at all these different examples of, like, the price of a cup of coffee back in 1913 was 5 cents. What's that price of coffee today? What's the price of the cup of coffee today? 5 bucks Bobby Gray: Let's say$ 3.95. So 3.95 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks divided by 5 cents is 79 X Bobby Gray: That's 79 times more expensive for that cup of coffee today than it was 113 years ago, when our new high-tech Federal Reserve money came out Bobby Gray: And so by understanding the core of money, you have the ability to make better decisions, store your wealth in better places that become a little bit more resistant to inflation. Inflation is that silent silent tax that's making your savings disappear over time. Bobby Gray: You know, if you take that$ 100 and you hide it on your mattress, and you come back in a year, it's going to be worth less than it is today. What? Bobby Gray: Because the government, you know, might guarantee the value of a deposit in an FDIC-insured bank account, but they don't guarantee the value of that deposit Bobby Gray: You know, if you withdraw it 10 or 100 years later, what's it going to be worth? Practically nothing. Bobby Gray: And so by understanding money, this boring concept, we have the ability to start to understand that there's good money and there's bad money. There's good money, there's better money, and there's best money when it comes to crypto. Bobby Gray: And so you get to make better decisions, more informed decisions as you understand this important concept. Bobby Gray: And Bobby Gray: If you catch the right financial technology at the right time, there might even be an upside for you there. Think about all the guys that got into Bitcoin Bobby Gray: Bitcoin mined its first block of January 2009. The Bitcoin white paper was published in 2008. First block mine January 2009 Bobby Gray: It took years Bobby Gray: for it to get out of its infancy took years. You know, I heard about it like 2011, maybe 20… by 2012, we were producing the original Bitcoin coin. But it took years for it to, like. Bobby Gray: get to the point where it was discussed mainstream. I would say most people heard about it in 2017, when it went from$ 1,000 to$ 20,000 a coin. It was right here in Singapore when that happened. Bobby Gray: Little side note about Singapore that I thought of yesterday. Why am I in Singapore? My Singapore story goes all the way back to 2012, maybe 2011. Bobby Gray: But our government, the US government, cooked up this new thing called FATCA, Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, maybe. Bobby Gray: Vodka Bobby Gray: And you know the stories. For years, Swiss bank accounts, numbered bank accounts, Americans having banks all over the place, and like, you know, some financial privacy existed once upon a time. Bobby Gray: And when America was like, no, no, no, no, no, we're the one country in the world that taxes on your money, regardless of where it is in the world, we want our cut Bobby Gray: Only country in the world that does that, by the way Bobby Gray: And so they went out to the global banking system and they said, we need all the information that you've got on your American customers from Hong Kong to Shanghai to Luxembourg and Paris and Geneva and Zurich and everywhere in between Bobby Gray: The US government came asking for the financial information of American citizens, regardless of where the bank account was open. Bobby Gray: I heard about that and I said, oh, that sucks so much for financial privacy. Privacy Bobby Gray: And then I read an article about 1 bank on planet Earth that said no Bobby Gray: They said, no, we're not going to do that. Bobby Gray: This is a privacy matter. We made an agreement with our customers. We're not going to share their financial information with you. Bobby Gray: And that one bank was DBS Bank right here in Singapore. Bobby Gray: And I read that article. And I said to myself, I am going right now Bobby Gray: The DBS Bank, and I am opening an account. I'm going to vote with my wallet, I'm gonna show that bank Bobby Gray: how much I appreciate them Bobby Gray: And I'm going to go and open an account there. Bobby Gray: Of course, I went to the other side of the world in 2012 to explore. Just check it out Bobby Gray: And ended up in Singapore and Bobby Gray: Just kidding. Bobby Gray: We bow down to the global policeman bully. We will be happy to turn over all of the American citizen bank account information to you as well. Bobby Gray: And so it was a nice idea, and I appreciate it and I applaud the Development Bank of Singapore, DBS Bank of Singapore's spirit that they had at least for a few moments in time where they resisted Bobby Gray: Before they finally said, well, we don't want to get kicked out of SWIFT, so okay, we'll hand over this banking, you know, customer information. And and it was all gone, but it was a close call. It was one moment in time where one bank on planet Earth stood up and said, no, not us. You can't tell us what to do. Stop it. Bobby Gray: And so, you know, again, it's Bobby Gray: It's different now. America has a tendency of getting its way Bobby Gray: But be that as it may, without getting into politics, I will say that I started my Singapore journey out of admiration Bobby Gray: for that little thing that happened 2011, 2012, whenever that was a thing. So that's why I came out to visit Singapore, fell in love with Singapore. It is a banking city. I mean, it is a global financial hub. It is Bobby Gray: It is Bobby Gray: Their entire industry is banking out here, banking, trading, commodities. It's a major port here as well with it's the most, I think it's the busiest port in the world was the last time I checked Bobby Gray: But anyway, that's a little backstory on on how I ended up back in 2012, 14 years ago here in Singapore, and why probably I'm back here today, because Bobby Gray: It's very safe. They have very strict rules and laws that are kind of frustrating most of the time. But it's very orderly. It's very clean, and it's a good place to do business and it's a great place Bobby Gray: To tell our story of honest money, to find people that want to trade with us. Bitcoin is big over here on this side of the world. Cryptocurrency is the largest crypto event in the world is going to be here in October. Bobby Gray: 6 and 7 at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, right here in Singapore. So we want to get dialed in here in Singapore. There's a ton of wealth here, there's a ton of opportunity here, and we want to share our story with the people here. It's tough, it's tough, because they've completely banned all cryptocurrency advertising Bobby Gray: You're not allowed to advertise anywhere outside of your website and social media. So we're working on strategies to comply with the law, and yet do a little bit of Bobby Gray: Of work to share our story with the people of Southeast Asia. So anyway, just quick backstory on why we're here, but as I was saying a moment ago, if I can remember what we were talking about, we're talking about how important it is that our money is good and honest. We're talking about the different Bobby Gray: options that we have, gold and silver, you know, they are incredibly good as a store of value, they're incredibly good as a unit of account, not incredibly good in 2026 as a medium of exchange Bobby Gray: And so when I finally took off my horse and buggy blinders Bobby Gray: All my little gold and silver expedition. You know, I came to realize that crypto, good crypto has all these properties just like gold and silver Bobby Gray: With it Bobby Gray: Big increased ability to trade and actually use it. You know, we talked about Bobby Gray: being able to send it from one side of the world to the other, we talked about doing that quickly, we talked about doing that without going through a central authority or an intermediary. We talked about doing that almost for free, any time of day, 24-7. The cryptocurrency networks are processing transactions and helping people exchange value. Bobby Gray: I like that, I want to be a part of that. Always had a passion for alternative currency. I've always had a deep distrust of the Federal Reserve and the US dollar. I know the harm that it's done in so many people's lives. You know, my own family Bobby Gray: Worked hard their whole lives, saved, got to their retirement years, looked at their savings and said, we're not going to make it. Bobby Gray: Follow the rules all along those years. Got to the point where they said, we're done working. We really can't work anymore, but our money's not going to make it all the way to the end, which means either we become a burden on our children and their families Bobby Gray: Or we go become a greeter at Walmart Bobby Gray: And there is no shame in hard work Bobby Gray: But what a shame Bobby Gray: What a shame it is that your time, your hours, your years can be stolen Bobby Gray: by the cantillionaires that are cooking the money up Bobby Gray: giving it to their friends, driving the price of everything up, buying their bigger yachts, their bigger mansions, their bigger jets Bobby Gray: While this gap Bobby Gray: Gets bigger and bigger between the halves and the have nots Bobby Gray: And that is fundamentally wrong. It's morally wrong. It's theft through inflation. There's no way to sugarcoat what it really is Bobby Gray: We can pretend Bobby Gray: If we want, like those people, those cantillionaires are doing something good and important, and maybe they even know what they're doing, but probably not, but probably not. And their time is up Bobby Gray: We've got all the tools now today in our pockets to do it better Bobby Gray: to do it honestly, to do it ethically, to do it morally, to do it between and amongst ourselves. We don't need anything else Bobby Gray: And it's going to take a while to like hit people in the head hard enough Bobby Gray: Gently enough Bobby Gray: to wake him up Bobby Gray: You know, we've been sitting here kind of tuned in to this Federal Reserve US almighty dollar thing for 113 years. It's going to be a challenge to break that spell. Bobby Gray: Well, how do we break this bill by boring people for 4 h and giving them a seminar on money and putting them to sleep? No. Bobby Gray: We get their attention with Lamborghinis. We get their attention with private jets. We get their attention with parties. We get their attention with, you know, nice clothes. Bobby Gray: With travel, with adventures Bobby Gray: That's what Bitcoin did to get the world's attention. Bobby Gray: They didn't get it by renting out school classrooms and inviting people to come out and talk about some thousand year old, you know, money conversation Bobby Gray: They did it by being great. They did it by producing all the things that so many people want. Bobby Gray: Now, are those things everything in life? No. But would a couple extra bucks in your pocket go a long way, maybe get caught up on some debt or like take a vacation for once or not have to work that second job? Yeah Bobby Gray: And that's time, that's putting time back in your hands, in your pocket Bobby Gray: You have to think of your money as time, because you trade your effort for this thing that somebody else gets for free. That's unfair. It's not just unfair, but it's raw. Bobby Gray: And if you believe it's wrong like I believe it's wrong, then that's when we roll up our sleeves and we say, someone's got to do something about it Bobby Gray: Is it going to be us or the other guy? Bobby Gray: Well, why can't it be us? Why can't we be the next ones to win big with alternative currency? Bobby Gray: I don't see any reason why not. Let's go. What's it going to take? I don't know. A guy with an idea and a plan and a couple people that are willing to take a risk and trust each other Bobby Gray: In hopes Bobby Gray: Of establishing a better system Bobby Gray: That creates an abundance of value and opportunity for me, you, and everyone that we cross paths with. That's why we're here. That's what we're doing. That's what honest money gives you. Bobby Gray: Honest money doesn't hold its value over time. Honest money goes up in value over time. Why? Because naturally things get less expensive over time because of technology. Bobby Gray: Think about the old story about the ounce of gold that bought the toga and the sandals and the belt 2000 years ago. Same ounce of gold buys the same toga and belt and sandals today. No, no, no, no, not true. Bobby Gray: I don't say gold is almost$ 5,000 today. You could buy two, three, four suits, two, three, four pairs of shoes, a couple belts for that$ 5,000. Bobby Gray: Why? Because it's honest money Bobby Gray: And technology is Bobby Gray: driven, droven, dried Bobby Gray: The price of production down Bobby Gray: With technology, we're able to make things more efficiently, more quickly, less expensively. Bobby Gray: And so honest money doesn't just hold its value over time, but it goes up in value over time. It gets you more over time. Bobby Gray: You know, today we've got money that, man, we're just hoping that the price doesn't go up. Bobby Gray: Outside of our ability to continue to get the things that we want Bobby Gray: I mean, how many people have started switching over to a lower quality product because the good stuff that you used to get is so much more expensive now Bobby Gray: So honest money gives us the ability to take back our time. Bobby Gray: To reclaim our value, to reclaim our wealth Bobby Gray: But we got to get people excited about it. We got to share our story. Bobby Gray: We got to open Bobby Gray: the door for that conversation. We have to get somebody to be willing to take off the blinders, and it's hard. And sometimes we have to get their attention with something that looks interesting, something that looks exciting, something that looks like Bobby Gray: We might just be right about this theory of ours with honest money. Bobby Gray: Crypto opens up a lot of new doors for us Bobby Gray: And we've come really far with Texacoin in the last two plus years, and we have even further to go Bobby Gray: into our bright future together. But that's what honest money is. Honest money is the foundation. It is the Bobby Gray: Vehicle by which we get to where we want to go. We couldn't do this without honest money, or we'd be just like all the other meme coins and pump and dumps out there. So it's going to take us a little longer to get to where we want to go, but we'll get there. Bobby Gray: And we'll get to a place that's sustainable, a place that has real impact Bobby Gray: on the world. It's hard work, it's a lofty goal. I know it. It was a lofty goal a couple of years ago. But when I stopped for a moment and I reflect on how far we've come Bobby Gray: With such little going for us Bobby Gray: And I think about how far we can go with you and me and the vast resources that we have and the great brand that we have and all the tools and technologies that we have now, I get excited. Bobby Gray: And so join me on Thursday night as we talk about honest money, the boring part of the week. Bobby Gray: Let the other guys do all the fun stuff, but if you want to sit down and have a conversation with me about the foundation, the fundamental reasons for why we're here, it's Thursday night. That's what I'm passionate about. Bobby Gray: And I believe Bobby Gray: that if we can teach other people about how important honest money is, those roots that we're planting, those seeds that we're planting, the roots will go deep Bobby Gray: And that's how we create staying power. That's how we create, you know, people that are willing to keep working hard for a good mission through the good times and the tough times. Bobby Gray: The pumps, they come and they go. Honest money is here to stay. I'm Bobby Gray. I'm the founder of Texacoin. I'm going to thank you again for joining me on this Thursday evening and Friday morning. If you're on this side of the world. And I look forward to catching you again next Thursday, hopefully I'll have a guest Bobby Gray: here to share a story about Honest Money as well. But thank you. Have a great night, and we'll talk again soon.
